FINDING THE WORDS

Over the years, I’ve written over 300 songs.
When I was first starting out as a singer/songwriter,
a friend once said to me,
“I really like your songs, Karen, but are they all about painful love relationships?”
“No!” I replied, rather indignantly.
I was so confused about this comment that, as soon as I got home,
I looked over all my songs. I was mortified to realize that my friend was right!

I immediately began working on a new, intentionally positive song.
it was called SHINE ON ME
and it remains a favourite to this day.

After that, I fell in love with writing inspirational music and never looked back.

Sometimes when I look my lyrics, they feel like they came from someplace else (thanks, S.E.L.F!)
and they sum up my teachings more succinctly than I ever could.

1) PLEASE GO BACK TO THE DAY 1 BALL
(all the song lyrics have been added)
AND FIND THE PHRASE(S) THAT RESONATES WITH YOU THE MOST
WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT THE IDEA OF LOVING YOUR S.E.L.F
(AND/OR YOUR SELF LOVING YOU!)

2) WRITE DOWN THE PHRASE(S)
AND PUT IT SOMEWHERE YOU CAN SEE IT EVERY DAY.

3) BRING IT TO CLASS TO SHARE.

SPEAKING OF CLASS SHARING

I’VE NOTICED THAT WHEN WE’RE DOING OUR CLASS SHARING,
SOME OF YOU SEEM NOT TO HAVE YOUR NOTES EASILY ACCESSIBLE,
SO I’VE MADE A PRINTOUT WHERE YOU CAN WRITE YOUR DAILY REFLECTIONS.
FOR EXAMPLE, TODAY, IN THE ‘DAY 2’ SECTION,
YOU CAN WRITE YOUR LYRICS CHOICE(S).

HERE IT IS.
HOPE THIS HELPS!

DAILY REFELCTIONS PRINTOUT

ENJOY YOUR LOVELY COLOURING ART!
